About Pamela Williamson
It sometimes surprises me to realize that I have been working with glass for 38 years. It is a big chunk of time out of one's life. To me, the beauty of glass is endless and always inspires. There are so many wonderful art forms to learn about, I wish I had 10 more lifetimes to pursue them all! Have you ever gone into an art store and looked at some of the handmade paper? I love the textures and patterns and sometimes try to incorporate these papers into my work. Using threads and fabric as textures with glass is also fascinating and worth spending hours experimenting. There is something undeniably exquisite about a simple piece of deep blue glass held up to the light. It's easy to understand how stained glass windows inspire people.
I have a MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and taught art in the New York City public schools. Children are fun to work with. They approach things without pre-conceived notions and bring pure imagination to a project.
I sell my work mainly in shops and galleries on the east and west coasts as
well as craft fairs across the country. Thanks for visiting.
